of Brighton - Student Immigration - implications of the Points Based Immigration System (PBS)
The way international students obtain visas to study in the UK has radically changed. The new Points Based immigration System (PBS) places increased responsibility on the institution that benefits from the migration. Like all HEIs, the University of Brighton has now become a formal licensed ‘Sponsor’ for students requiring a visa to student in the UK.
It’s important that all university staff who have contact with international students are aware of the basic changes and who to direct students to, for more information.
Staff should click on RASCALS for information. If you are already in studentcentral you will be directed to the RASCALS home page from where you should select Student Immigration from the menu on the left. If you are not already in studentcentral you will first be presented with the studentcentral login page where you should enter you normal university user name and password.
Students will find information about immigration on the university website.
