Estate and Facilities Management (EFM) manages the physical environment in which staff and students work, live and learn. Our commitment is to provide excellent facilities and contribute to ensuring a fruitful student experience through fit for purpose, high quality buildings and support services. There are a number of areas that make up EFM:

Cleaning Services This service is responsible for keeping the campus clean, recycling, waste management, care of roads and pathways and pest control.
Departmental Health and Safety Ensures that works undertaken, commissioned or managed by EFM are carried out in a safe and healthy environment for all employees, students, members of the public and contractors. Includes EFM policy and related issues such as disabled access...
Estates Strategy This is due to be updated and will set out the framework within which the estate will respond to both internal and external influences, ultimately providing the university with the physical environment to achieve its corporate aspirations.
Help Desk facility provides a central point of contact for all schools and departments to request maintenance repairs and progress on repairs/jobs.
Maintenance This area is responsible for the operation and maintenance of building structures and associated engineering services, undertaking planned maintenance, repairs and also maintaining the gardens and sports grounds
Projects This area is responsible for the management of major strategic initiatives. It manages both minor and major projects, including interior design and smaller schemes of refurbishment, extension or alteration.
Security Provides monitoring of campus security and patrolling of campuses. Security staff also provide crime prevention advice and respond to alarms and emergencies.
Space Management Space management not only involves the development and support of strategies and tools for the effective use of all non-residential space, but also carries out major accommodation planning initiatives through the preparation of proposals and feasibility studies.
