The Estates and Facilities Management department aims to provide a value and valued service in a friendly professional manner. We would welcome your views on any aspect of the Help Desk service and feedback can be completed and submitted on-line. You are prompted when you submit a request to complete a feedback form and you can also provide feedback at any time about an individual service or in respect of our services overall using the link provided.  The Help Desk will twice yearly send an email prompt to customers who have submitted a request to complete the questionnaire. We constantly review the information contained in the feedback forms and plan to answer as much as we can and make this accessible to you online.

Below are some questions and comments we have received via feedback.

Why is UCH called the BT Building - this is not its name. Its name is UCH.  UCH is the name of the building.

The UCH building is not the name of the building. UCH is the name of the site University Centre Hastings. There are two buildings for this site. One is called the BT building because it is part of the BT building. The other building is called Queenbury House

Can I submit a form from home?

Planon uses your user ID so the system will only allow forms to be submitted when logged on as a staff member.

When completing an online form why are room/door numbers a separate field?

The new buildings such as Checkland and Huxley have all doors, rooms, and spaces numbered.
It is the Universities intention to have all doors, rooms and spaces such as communal areas, circulation spaces, corridors, stairs, ducts and risers in existing buildings numbered. Until this is completed it is simpler to keep the building/site and room/door number a separate field so that a space without a number can still have a request submitted against it. All forms have a detailed location of request field available which can be used to specify where the request is for. 

I cannot access the forms from my tmp7 address which means that I have to keep logging in and out.

Staff members should not be using their functional account and details to log onto the network. You should be using your personal account to log onto networked services.

Do we need to fill in description of the problem twice, i.e. under brief description and then in the text box.

You do not need to complete the description twice - the large free text box is not mandatory.

Do the online forms work on Mac computers?

The online forms do work on MAC computers but if you are experiencing problems please call IS help desk 4444 as they can check the relevant settings. If you need to put a request in then you can call the Help Desk on ext 1010.
