Information for Students
Currently students cannot raise a maintenance request using the online forms. To report a maintenance and repairs fault in any non-residential building please notify either the site caretakers, or a relevant staff member.
Residential Buildings
You should notify
the site office within 24 hours of becoming
aware of any problem (clause 1.4 of your
agreement applies). Any defects which
you consider to be potentially dangerous
must be immediately reported to site staff.
For less serious faults, please complete a
maintenance form and hand it into the site
office.
You should ensure that when repairs are reported, a full description of the fault is given. For example, to mend a broken window the university may send round a glazier, but if the window just won’t open, it might be more appropriate to send a joiner. You may be charged for repairs if you caused the need for repair.
The university is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the accommodation it manages at Varley, Phoenix Brewery and Moulsecoomb Place. At our Falmer site, the halls of residence are managed on behalf of the university by L&Q (Paddock Field), Sanctuary Housing (Great Wilkins) and by Viridian in Eastbourne (Welkin Halls). The university or housing associations managing halls can only repair faults once they are aware of them.
Non-Residential Buildings
To report a maintenance and repairs fault in any non-residential building please notify either the site caretakers, or a relevant staff member.
