UoB webteam-errors and change requests
Errors and Requests for Changes
Errors
Errors fall into several categories:
- If there is a technical issue, a server is not running, or a database
is providing random results, please contact the service
administrator who can provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- If you find a factual error on a central 'purple' website page, please
report the error to us in an email.
- If you have found an error, or some outdated information within the
course data held on the central courses database, please send your updates
to course-data@brighton.ac.uk
- If you find an error within a school website, please report this directly
to the school's site editor.
In the first two instances, it will help if you provide the following
information:
- Your name and a means of contacting you.
- The full URL of the offending page or pages, and where on the page
we can find the problem.
- A brief description of the problem.
- An outline of any steps we may need to perform in order to reproduce
the fault.
Changes
The webteam is a small team and we have to plan carefully to ensure that
we can support everyone. Obviously we need to prioritise requests for
changes and any help you can offer us is greatly appreciated. Should your
site, or the section of the site you are responsible for need changes,
please:
- Notify us as far ahead of time as possible.
- Please check that we are responsible for the pages that you wish to
change. You may wish to check the info on site
development first.
We will post some advice for redeveloping your site here shortly.
