Webteam guidelines

The University of Brightons webteam, based within the department of Marketing and Communication, is responsible for the management and development of the university’s external website. This is the primary focus for prospective students and research/business partners to find information about the university and the services we offer.

The webteam also maintain websites for the university’s academic schools and several central support departments. We publish numerous corporate resources online including BGA for alumni, websites supporting advertising campaigns, and sites supporting corporate events and conferences. Marketing and Communications can also advise on graphic design and photography, and on-site content and writing for the web.

Guidelines and policies

Most importantly we are trying to provide a framework of guidelines and support services. These help everyone by ensuring that we meet minimum standards for every document we publish, and that everyone can access the information.

Help and advice

Our aim is to answer any questions you may have about publishing material on the web, from planning through to delivery and maintenance.

Webteam projects

The ability of the webteam to take on department-specific projects is strongly influenced by how much other work we're being asked to do at a given time. At the moment we are interested in redesigning departmental websites to conform stylistically with the rest of the university schools sites. We can also take on projects (other than primary department websites) when they can be shown to benefit the whole university, benefit a large number of faculty, staff, and students, or serve as a model or template for sites for other departments.

For all other sorts of projects, please contact us to find out if we can help. Even if we can't take on your project at a given time, we're still interested in talking with you; providing consulting services; and helping you figure out how your project can be completed.

You can see a list of projects we have implemented recently.
