Careers

The Careers Service aims to deliver an effective and responsive careers service through the provision of quality guidance, education and information. This supplements the personal development programme and information provided by the students academic department, as part of the Career Planning Agreement.

What we offer students, graduates and employers:

  • Careers guidance
  • Help with application and interviews
  • Support to find work experience: placements and internships
  • Mentoring - Momentum
  • Volunteering opportunities - Active Student
  • Support to develop entrepeneurial skills - Beepurple
  • Finding job vacancies
  • Events and training workshops
  • Employability skills programmes
  • Services for employers

More information on these can be found on the 'what we offer' page of our website.

Careers Service website

Our website www.brighton.ac.uk/careers provides an excellent starting point for many careers-related queries. It includes guidance on different job roles and sectors, tips on finding and applying for work, current job and volunteering opportunities, and information about different study options.

News

The Careers Service blog on studentcentral features news, events and opportunities for students and graduates to develop or take advantage of. We also publish on Twitter and Facebook

Data on graduate destinations

Each year we contact our recent graduates and diplomates to find out what they are doing now.
We collect these statistics on behalf of the University which is required to submit them to the Higher Education Statistics Agency. It is used by the Government to form the employability performance indicator. In addition, it is used by academic colleagues and careers staff to inform students of graduate destinations.
